Midway College recently named Christy Cleveland its new director of development. Cleveland comes to Midway College from IMG World Wide, where she most recently was a project manager for the International Spa Association. Before that position, she was government relations manager and events manger for the National Tour Association, a division of IMG World Wide. Cleveland is a graduate of the University of Kentucky and has a bachelor's degree in corporate communications. As director of development, she will work closely with the college's leadership on annual giving plans, building campaigns and alumni affairs.
Woodford Sun writer joins National Press Club
A Versailles resident and contributing columnist to The Woodford Sun has been approved by the board of governors of The National Press Club for membership.
Susan Dunlap, 51, who writes the Sun's "Musings," became a member of the Washington, D.C.-based organization on Sept. 1.

The National Press Club, a private club for journalists and communications professionals, has been a Washington institution for more than a century. It is a social and business organization dedicated to supporting the improvement of the journalism profession.
Dunlap worked for many years as a staff writer for an award-winning community newspaper in Indiana, The Corydon Democrat, where she earned 17 state, regional and national press awards. She has written as a free-lancer for numerous national magazines. She also has written for several regional newspapers, and she has contributed to three published books.
She has taught as an adjunct instructor in the Department of Communications at Midway College, at Eastern Kentucky University, and at Kentucky Technical and Community College System's downtown Louisville campus. She is a tutor to University of Kentucky student-athletes who are majoring in journalism and communications.
