At 12:23 a.m., Trooper Darren Kinman responded to a report that a vehicle was entering I-64 in the wrong direction at the Midway exit near the 65-mile marker. Kinman spotted the vehicle and was forced to travel in the wrong direction on I-64 to stop it.
Near the 58-mile marker in Franklin County, Kinman got his cruiser in front of the wrong-way vehicle. The vehicle struck the rear of Kinman's cruiser, and both came to a stop. No one was injured.
