The second shooting in four weeks at Bonded Links motorcycle club in Nicholasville wounded a man in the hand, Nicholasville police said.
The latest shooting happened shortly before 2:30 a.m. Friday in the commercial area off U.S. 27 commonly known as “the drag strip” because it’s a former racing venue. The strip is home to auto body shops and used car lots.
Only a few people were on the scene when police arrived “but we did find the remnants of several shell casings in the parking lot,” said officer Kevin Grimes.
Later, police learned that a man was at University of Kentucky Chandler Hospital in Lexington with a gunshot wound to the hand, Grimes said. He is not cooperating with police.
Never miss a local story.
Grimes said Friday’s shooting happened during a private party held at the former motorcycle clubhouse where three people were shot May 12 during another private party. Bonded Links can be rented for private functions, police have said.
Mark Boguszewski, 27, of Jefferson County, died in the May 12 shooting. Another man, Zach Cawthorn, 27, died May 31 from complications due to gunshot wounds at UK Hospital. A third person, who was not identified, was wounded in the May 12 shooting and was taken to UK Hospital.
Nicholasville police and the U.S. Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives (ATF) announced Monday that they are offering a $5,000 reward for information that leads to the arrest and conviction of the shooter in the May 12 triple shooting.
Police said they have investigated “every possible lead” in the May 12 shooting but have been frustrated because possible witnesses have denied seeing anything.
