A person was injured Monday night in a shooting near downtown Lexington, according to media reports.
The victim was in the passenger seat of a car parked near a liquor store at East Third Street and Eastern Avenue when two men pulled up and began yelling at them for blocking traffic, according to WKYT, the Herald-Leader’s news partner. One of the men in the second car then fired shots, striking the victim, the news station reports.
Police were called just before midnight when the victim was driven to University of Kentucky Chandler Hospital, according to WKYT. The victim is now recovering from non-life-threatening injuries.
Police told WKYT they found shell casings near the liquor store later that night and investigators continue to search for the suspects, who were reported to be driving a white four-door car.
