Two shootings that occurred Wednesday night in Lexington are not thought to be related, according to police.
The first shooting occurred about 5 p.m. outside Gleneagles Apartments on Polo Club Boulevard, near Interstate 75 and Man o’ War Boulevard, where police responded to a call of shots fired.
Police found a man walking nearby on Market Garden Lane and took him to University of Kentucky Chandler Hospital, according to Lt. Andrew Daughtery.
He said the victim was not being cooperative.
The suspected shooter fled in a white Toyota Camry, Daughtery said.
About three hours later, two people were injured in a drive-by shooting on Gerald Drive in the Winburn neighborhood.
After a report of shots fired, police found a wounded man and took him to the hospital. The victim’s nephew also showed up with a gunshot wound to his foot, according to police.
The shooter drove off in a dark car, Daughtery said.
Because the shootings occurred on opposite ends of town and different vehicles were involved, Daughtery said they are not thought to be related.
Both shooters remain at large.
