A school bus driver has been suspended for 10 days without pay after he allegedly slapped an elementary school student.
Kirk Bodenweiser, a bus driver for Corbin Independent School District, also must complete an anger management program, according to a letter from Superintendent Ed McNeel obtained by an open-records request.
McNeel wrote in the letter that an unidentified student poked Bodenweiser in the face on April 22. Bodenweiser allegedly reacted by slapping the student, McNeel wrote.
Bodenweiser reported the incident to the child's mother and to the district's director of transportation, McNeel said.

Bodenweiser's suspension began May 18. He submitted a written statement May 13 to notify McNeel that he would not request a hearing about the suspension, McNeel wrote in the letter.
