Lexington police say a woman stabbed her husband in the leg with a set of hedge clippers Thursday morning after he allegedly choked her.
The husband, Derrick Larue Keeling, 47, has been charged with fourth-degree assault, disorderly conduct and alcohol intoxication, Lexington police Lt. Ron Compton said. Keeling also had an outstanding warrant for a probation violation.
Police received a call of domestic violence at 462 Chestnut Street at 1:47 a.m. Thursday, Compton said. Keeling allegedly had choked his wife, who has not been identified, and she stabbed him in self-defense, Compton said.
Keeling was taken to Good Samaritan Hospital with non-life-threatening injuries, Compton said. He was arrested after he received stitches to his leg.
His wife has not been charged.
