Three men were arrested Wednesday morning, accused of planting a homemade bomb that contained BB pellets, drain cleaner and aluminum foil outside a mobile home in Bourbon County.
Paris police received a call about 12:45 a.m. Wednesday that someone had thrown a bomb at the home at 398 Stoner Avenue, police Chief Tim Gray said. The bomb detonated next to the gas meter of the home but caused minimal damage and no injuries.
Officers who responded saw a vehicle near the crime scene that the victims told police they had seen outside the home, Gray said.
Paris police arrested William McCarty Jr., 19, of Foster; Michael Abney Jr., 18, of Paris; and Austin Robinson, 18, of Carlisle after a short pursuit. The three were charged with first-degree wanton endangerment and possession of a destructive device. McCarty also was charged with resisting arrest and fleeing police, and Abney and Robinson were charged with public intoxication. Robinson faces additional charges of possession of marijuana and drug paraphernalia.
One of the teens apparently had a dispute with the resident of the trailer, Gray said.
