A 36-year-old Boyle County man fired at a postal delivery vehicle early Tuesday afternoon in Danville, police say.
Juan Montez Warner, who resides at 1000 Regency Road, surrendered to Danville police after neighbors were advised to leave the area and the neighborhood had been blocked off. Officers contacted Warner's family members, who convinced Warner to come out of the house and be taken into custody.
The U.S. Postal Service vehicle was struck twice but the letter carrier was not hurt. The carrier told police he was driving away from the suspect's residence when his vehicle was hit.
Warner is charged with two counts of first-degree wanton endangerment, and more charges might be filed. He was lodged in the Boyle County Jail.
State police assisted in handling the incident.
