An elderly Pulaski County man was found slain early Tuesday, and police arrested a man who lived in the same community.
Jack Roernik, 79, of Eubank died after being stabbed multiple times, said Pulaski County Sheriff Todd Wood.
Michael A. Abner, also of Eubank, has been charged with murder and first-degree robbery, said Detective Lt. Brett Whitaker of the Pulaski County Sheriff's office. Whitaker said that police did not want to discuss a motive at this time.
Police began investigating after someone saw Roernik's door open early Tuesday. The investigation led to Abner's trailer, where police found the victim's truck and other items from his home, Wood said.
Never miss a local story.
Abner, 46, was under his trailer when police found him, Wood said.
Abner has a lengthy arrest record in Pulaski County, including charges of burglary, theft, receiving stolen property, public intoxication and domestic violence.
