A Florida fugitive who was arrested Thursday by U.S. Marshals and Lexington police was found with thousands of prescription painkillers in his home, Deputy U.S. Marshal Roger Daniel said.
Mark W. Rush, 31, of Holly Hill, Fla., was sought for warrants issued in Daytona Beach, Fla., for aggravated assault, witness tampering and failure to appear, according to a news release issued by the U.S. Marshals office.
In 2009, Rush was arrested in Florida after allegedly firing a gun at four people in a vehicle but disappeared after posting bond, the release said.
Rush was arrested Thursday morning at a duplex he was renting on Hanna Place. During the arrest, officers recovered two automatic weapons, three ounces of marijuana, more than 2,000 prescription pain pills and $7,000 in cash, Daniel said.
