Georgetown police are searching for someone who shot an arrow through the head of a stray cat that was found Wednesday morning.
A man feeding stray cats found the injured cat on Old Lemons Mill Court, Georgetown police Capt. Scott Starns said. The Humane Society picked up the cat and euthanized it.
Police said it's not clear whether Wednesday's attack is connected to a report of a cat being shot with an arrow last September. The woman who made that report lives on the same street. She also had her cat euthanized.
Police investigated but did not find any evidence to proceed with the case.
"We'd like to know more," Starns said.
He encouraged anyone with information to contact police. Starns said someone could be charged with animal cruelty even if the cat does not have an owner.
