A Lexington Herald-Leader newspaper carrier was released from a hospital Wednesday after being shot in the neck Monday morning.
Don Silvestri was picked up from University of Kentucky hospital by his brother about 2 p.m.
Silvestri was delivering papers along his route near Georgetown Street and New Circle before 4 a.m. Monday when two men chased him down. The men grabbed a newspaper and shot him in the neck, Silvestri said.
The bullet exited through Silvestri's back, passing through a cluster of nerves and limiting movement and feeling in his left arm and hand.
Silvestri said Tuesday that doctors chose not to operate; he will instead do physical therapy to try to regain full use of his arm.
"It will probably never be like it was," he said.
Police had not named any suspects in the shooting Wednesday.
