Nearly 50 people were arrested in a drug roundup on Tuesday in Madison County, Sheriff Nelson O'Donnell said.
O'Donnell said authorities had 62 arrest warrants, including 60 for felony trafficking offenses, and arrested 47 people Tuesday morning with assistance from the Madison County Sheriff's Department and the Central Kentucky Drug Task Force.
Twenty of the arrests were made in Berea and southern Madison County. The other 27 arrests were made in the Richmond area.
The people charged were being held at the Madison County jail, O'Donnell said. He said police planned to continue investigating and serving warrants.
