Richmond police found a school bus Sunday that apparently had been taken from the Madison County Public Schools.
Police went to the 2000 block of Willow Drive to investigate a report of a bus parked in a vacant lot and that appeared to have been wrecked.
The officers found a 1995 International school bus with a large scrape down the right side and a large hole in a storage compartment, police said.
An official from the school district was called to the scene but he did not know where or when the bus had been taken.
Never miss a local story.
The estimated damage to the bus was $5,000, Richmond police said.
