Two people are in custody after a Versailles Road bank was robbed Thursday afternoon.
Lexington police Sgt. Pete Ford said the robbery occurred at Fifth Third Bank, 2225 Versailles Road, at 3:12 p.m.
Police said Chad Edward Baker, 34, and Sierra Nicole Nester, 19, both of Lexington, were found in a car a short time after the robbery about 5 miles down the road, at the Airport Foodmart near the Woodford County line. Baker was lying down inside the vehicle.
Police say Baker walked into the bank and handed a note to the teller demanding money. The teller complied, Ford said. The man did not appear to have used or implied a weapon, he said.

The man left the bank and got into a car, described by witnesses as a maroon Chrysler. Police later spotted a maroon sedan at the convenience store. They found evidence, including money, inside the car, Ford said.
Nester was driving the car, Ford said.
Baker and Nester are both charged with second-degree robbery.
