Kentucky State Police said Thursday that they have obtained an arrest warrant for a Pennsylvania woman in connection with a weekend fire at Kentucky State University dormitory room.
State police are working with law enforcement in Pennsylvania to apprehend Juanisha J. Feliciano, 19, of West Erie. Once she is located, Feliciano will be extradited back to Kentucky to face a charge of first-degree arson, and she may face other criminal charges, state police said.
A fire alarm was activated at 5:19 a.m. Sunday at Chandler Hall. A female student was treated for smoke inhalation at Frankfort Regional Medical Center and released, said KSU spokeswoman Felicia Lewis. The university did not release the student's name.
The fire caused damage to a carpet and there was smoke damage to the room, Lewis said.
