The man indicted Friday on a murder charge in the death of a Garrard County group-home resident turned himself in to police Tuesday.
Tyler Brock, 21, of Corbin was indicted on two felonies: one count of murder and one count of knowingly abusing an adult, according to the Garrard County indictment. He was being held in the Lincoln County jail in Stanford.
Brock is accused in the beating and kicking death of Shawn Ackridge, 35, on June 12. Ackridge was one of three residents in the Paint Lick group home for the intellectually disabled that was operated by Community Ties of America. The Brentwood, Tenn., company has closed the Garrard home and two others.
Brock's bond is set at $500,000 cash. He is scheduled to be arraigned in Garrard Circuit Court on Aug. 19.
