Police said the accident happened about 1:30 a.m.
A 2004 white Chrysler 300 driven by Evan D. Lounsbury, 23, of Lexington, was outbound on Versailles Road when Lounsbury lost control of the car and it crossed into the inbound lanes, rotating and traveling backward where it was struck by a Ford Taurus, according to a release from the city's collision reconstruction unit.
Lounsbury was pronounced dead at the scene.
