Funeral arrangements have been set for a Lexington doctor found shot to death outside her office Thursday night, and her family is asking for the public's help in catching her killer.
Erin Truitt, one of three daughters of Dr. Martha Post and Dr. Robert Truitt, said in a short statement Saturday night that the family asks that "anyone with information please come forward."
Post, 55, a dermatologist, was found Thursday night in her vehicle outside her office at 2351 Huguenard Drive, according to police. She died of multiple gunshot wounds.
She apparently had been backing out of the parking lot when she was shot, and police were called about 7:45 p.m.
Lexington police spokeswoman Sherelle Roberts said Friday that there are persons of interest in the case, but she declined to answer questions about them.
Lt. Chris Van Brackel said Saturday there had been no new developments, and Erin Truitt said police have not given the family any new information.
Dr. Robert Truitt, who works in the same office building as his wife did, told the Herald-Leader on Friday that a man who had lived temporarily in a basement apartment at the office had been stalking Post for about a year and a half. He declined to give the man's name.
Truitt said he last saw his wife about 5 p.m. Thursday at their office. He said they texted after he found that he was locked out of their house about 7 p.m., but the texts stopped abruptly.
While his daughters issued their statements outside his home Saturday night, Robert Truitt came into the yard.
"We hope to get this stuff out because there is a delusional killer" out there, he said. "Hopefully, they'll get him."
Visitation for Post will be 4 to 8 p.m. Sunday at Milward Funeral Home — Broadway. Services will be at 11 a.m. Monday at Second Presbyterian Church.
