A 33-year-old man was arrested Tuesday after being indicted in Floyd County in connection with a crash that killed two people in June.
James Slone of Melvin was taken to the Floyd County Detention Center after being indicted on two counts of murder, four counts of first-degree assault and one count of driving under the influence, according to a news release issued by state police.
Slone was driving a 2000 Dodge pickup east on Ky. 122 in the Printer community of Floyd County on June 1 when he crossed the center line and hit a westbound Chevrolet pickup.
The driver of that vehicle, Jeffery Hamilton, 36, of McDowell, and a passenger in Slone's vehicle, Karen Mitchell, 43, of Hi Hat, were pronounced dead at the scene. Other people were also injured in the wreck.
