Lexington police have interviewed a woman who turned herself in after the hit-and-run death of a pedestrian Saturday night, but they have not charged her.
Lencola Groves turned herself in on Sunday, police said. Investigators found the vehicle that was involved in the death and impounded it.
Casey Edward Hedgecock, 22, was hit just before 8 p.m. as he was crossing West Loudon Avenue near the Hope Center. Witnesses told police that a car, possibly a black Chevrolet Monte Carlo, drove off, first pulling into the Hope Center parking lot, then heading west toward Newtown Pike.
Hedgecock, a resident of the Hope Center, died at 8:17 p.m. Saturday at University of Kentucky Chandler Hospital.
