A man was shot during a home invasion early Friday, Lexington police said.
Shortly before 5 a.m., officers went to an apartment at 251 Chippendale Circle after getting a call about shots fired.
Upon arrival, officers learned that three men, all in dark clothing with their faces covered and armed with handguns, kicked in the apartment door, according to a police report.
When one of the residents came out of the bedroom, one of the intruders fired three to four shots. One shot struck the resident in the upper back shoulder.
The resident, who was not identified, was taken to University of Kentucky Chandler Hospital with injuries that were not life-threatening, police said.
