The third day of the trial of Donald Southworth, accused of killing his wife, Umi, continues Wednesday. Don Southworth, 49, was indicted in June on a charge of murder. Prosecutors say he is responsible for killing Umi Southworth, who died a day after she was found beaten outside the Meadowthorpe Avenue home that she shared with her husband and daughter. The Southworth's daughter, now 14, is a well known area folk singer. On Tuesday, jurors heard testimony from police, co-workers and others describing the day Umi Southworth was found in bushes outside her home. The trial, scheduled to last eight days, is being held in Fayette Circuit Court.
