A Mercer County man was arrested Saturday after components used in the manufacturing of methamphetamine caused a fire at an apartment building in Harrodsburg, according to the Mercer County sheriff's office.
Patrick Atwell of Harrodsburg was charged with one count of manufacturing methamphetamine and nine counts of first-degree wanton endangerment.
Sheriff's officials were searching for a woman who fled the apartment when the fire started.
Residents of the apartment complex were given shelter at a hotel for the weekend, and the American Red Cross is assisting them.

Atwell was in the Boyle County Detention Center, which incarcerates inmates from Mercer County.
