An illegal immigrant living in Taylor County has been charged with prostituting underage girls.
Adulfo De Aquino-Cancino, 28, allegedly recruited girls to take part in prostitution, arranged sexual encounters for them and took them places to engage in sex for money, according to a news release from David J. Hale, federal prosecutor for the western half of Kentucky.
De Aquino-Cancino allegedly took part in sex trafficking involving two juvenile girls and several women. The acts took place in Taylor, Adair, Barren and Green counties between August 2011 and January 2012, according to a news release.
De Aquino-Cancino told state police that he would pick up the girls and women in Campbellsville and take them to places to perform sex acts with his friends, according to the news release.
The prostitutes paid him for driving them.
De Aquino-Cancino had his initial court appearance Wednesday in federal court in Bowling Green. If convicted, he faces at least 10 years in prison, and up to life.
