A Lexington man was killed Thursday when his motorcycle crashed into a car on Third and Race Streets.
The rider's name was not released Thursday, pending notification of family members.
He was riding a 2008 Suzuki west on Third Street when a Chevrolet Impala travelling east made a left turn into his path, police said in a news release.
The Impala's driver, identified as Roger C. Smith of Lexington, was not injured, police said.
The motorcycle rider was taken to University of Kentucky Chandler Medical Center, where he died from his injuries.
No charges had been filed, and toxicology results for both people involved were pending, police said. Smith was wearing a seat belt. The release did not say if the rider was wearing a helmet.
It was the 10th traffic fatality in Lexington this year.
