The motorcyclist killed in a crash with a car Thursday night has been identified as Ray Fields Jr. of Lexington, according to a news release from the Fayette County Coroner's Office.
Fields died of multiple blunt-force trauma at University of Kentucky Chandler Hospital, the news release said.
Fields was riding a 2008 Suzuki west on Third Street when the motorcycle collided with an eastbound Chevrolet Impala, Lexington police said. The car's driver, Roger C. Smith of Lexington, was not injured. No charges had been filed as of Thursday night.
The crash happened about 6 p.m. at Third and Race streets.
Lusk-McFarland Funeral Home of Paris will handle arrangements.
This was the 10th traffic fatality in Lexington this year.
