A Lexington police officer was involved in a crash Tuesday after a driver pulled out in front of his cruiser at the intersection of Buckhorn Drive and Man o' War Boulevard.
Neither the officer nor the other driver was seriously hurt. An ambulance crew checked on the woman because she had a pre-existing medical condition, Lexington police spokeswoman Sherelle Roberts said.
No names were immediately released.
The officer was responding to another wreck with his lights and sirens running when the wreck happened, she said. He was trying to turn left from Buckhorn onto the inner loop of Man o' War when the other driver failed to stop and hit him. She then lost control of her car and hit a light pole, toppling it.
Never miss a local story.
Police described the woman as elderly and said she had breathing problems, which required the use of an oxygen tank.
