The Fayette County coroner's office on Wednesday identified a man gunned down in a shootout at his Lexington apartment Monday.
Isaias Lopez-Bustamente, 26, died from multiple gunshot wounds when three people burst into his apartment at Creekwood South on Devonport Drive, near Alexandria Drive, the release said. Police have said the group apparently planned to rob Lopez-Bustamente.
Bustamente opened fire on the intruders, injuring two of them. Police have charged three people, and charges were pending against a fourth person who was injured by gunfire.
Wallace Burdette, 25, who was shot, and an unidentified 16-year-old juvenile were charged with murder and first-degree robbery. Rodneisha L. Murphy, 20, was charged with first-degree robbery after she confessed to planning the robbery, according to court documents. She was not present during the shootout.
Charges of murder and first-degree robbery are pending against an unidentified 17-year-old, who was also shot and taken to University of Kentucky Chandler Hospital. He was said to be seriously injured.
Family and neighbors have said Lopez-Bustamente, known by his street name "Flocko," protected two young girls who were in the apartment at the time.
