A British national was arrested Monday at Blue Grass Airport in Lexington, where he thought he had flown to meet with a minor girl, according to a Kentucky State Police news release.
Solomon Waters, 41, of London, England, was charged "with multiple state and federal crimes" after a three-month investigation by the state police Electronic Crime Branch, the news release said.
Waters was arrested as a result of an undercover investigation involving illegal Internet activity occurring from his home in England, the release said. The investigation culminated with Waters traveling to Kentucky, where he thought he was meeting a minor girl.
He "instead was met by law enforcement upon arrival," the news release said.
Officers from Blue Grass Airport, the Lexington Division of Police, and Immigration and Customs Enforcement all participated in the operation, with the cooperation of British police officials, the release said.
Waters was being held in the Fayette County Detention Center.
