Carlisle man sentenced to 18 years for the shooting death of his mother

Samuel Jay Terrell, 20, was sentenced Monday to 18 years in prison for the death of his mother, Betty Jo Terrell, 56, of Carlisle Samuel Terrell initially was charged with murder, and he pleaded guilty to a reduced charge of manslaughter.
