A federal jury has found a Magoffin County man guilty of charges related to trafficking about 38,000 pills from Florida.
Howard Harlo Back, 76, was found guilty in U.S. District Court in Pikeville on Wednesday on one county of conspiracy to distribute Oxycodone and 12 counts of distribution of Oxycodone, according to a press release from Operation UNITE, a community-based anti-drug program.
Back's four Magoffin County co-conspirators — Jeff Bailey, 27; Matt Bailey Sr., 51; Matt Bailey Jr., 29; and Donald "Donnie" Trusty, 45 — previously pleaded guilty and have testified against Back.
Back was arrested in March after returning from Florida with about 140 Oxycodone pills intended to be sold in Magoffin County, according to a release.
His arrest was the result of a 14-month undercover investigation involving the Magoffin County Sheriff's Office, DEA and Operation UNITE.
All five men are scheduled to be sentenced May 8.
