Lexington police were searching Monday for a man who offered sex with his children to a hotel guest in exchange for money, police spokeswoman Sherelle Roberts said.
A guest was in the Four Points Sheraton lobby reading a newspaper when a man in his 40s approached and said his van had broken down outside the Stanton Way hotel.
The man claimed that his wife and kids were with him after sleeping in the van the previous night. The man offered to sell his coat and cellphone to get enough money for a fan belt, Roberts said.
The hotel guest refused to buy the items. The man then asked the guest if he would pay to have sex with the suspect's children.
After the guest refused, the man left the hotel and got into a blue minivan with a woman sitting in the front seat. They were last seen turning onto Newtown Pike. No arrests have been made, Roberts said.
