A man was shot in the back early Monday in downtown Lexington near Third Street, Lexington police spokeswoman Sherelle Roberts said.
The shooting was reported at 3:20 a.m. The man, whose name wasn't released, did not have life-threatening injuries, Roberts said.
The victim, after being shot, ran to the corner of Third Street and Broadway, where officers found him, Roberts said.
The victim told police he was walking when an unknown person fired at him, hitting him in the back.
The victim was taken to University of Kentucky Chandler Hospital after being treated for two wounds, said Battalion Chief Brian Wainscott.
Three or four shell casings were found, Roberts said.
