A Lexington man was sentenced to 14 years in federal prison Friday for making child pornography videos available over the Internet.
Brett Michael Compton, 29, was charged for distributing child pornography. Authorities found about 60,000 images of child pornography on his home computer in December 2011.
U.S. District Judge Karen Caldwell ordered Compton to serve 25 years of supervised release after he completes the prison sentence. He also must register as a sex offender.
In October 2011, an undercover law enforcement agent found two online videos of prepubescent children engaging in sexually explicit conduct. According to court documents, they later found that Compton had posted the videos from his computer.
Federal law requires Compton to serve at least 85 percent of his sentence.
