A Fayette County grand jury has indicted Devonte Laval Webb for murder in the shooting death of Steven Reynolds last April.
The indictment also charges Webb with one count of tampering with physical evidence, and one count of possessing a firearm while having a previous felony conviction.
Reynolds, who was 22, died at the University of Kentucky Chandler Medical Center shortly after being wounded in a shooting at Lexington's Eastland Bowling Lanes just before midnight on April 14. Four others were injured in the incident.
At the time, the bowling alley was holding an event called the "Soul Bowl," designed for college-age people. About 160 people were on hand for the party.
According to police, a confrontation developed between groups of people. The disagreement then turned physical, and several shots were fired, officers said.
One those wounded later described the scene as a "war zone."
Webb was charged with the shooting in late June. He was already in the Fayette County Detention Center on several drug charges.
According to the indictment, the tampering charge alleges that Webb tried to destroy, mutilate or conceal a gun that could have been used as evidence.
Webb is scheduled for arraignment in Fayette Circuit Court on Sept. 5 at noon.
