Car hits Lexington police horse; horse and rider suffer minor injuries

A car struck a Lexington mounted patrol officer's horse downtown on Thursday night, causing the animal to rear and dump the officer onto the street. Officer Raymond Alexander and the horse suffered minor injuries, and Lexington police were looking for the driver, who did not stop, Lt. David Biroschik said.
