Pulaski County officials are trying to determine whether human bones found Sunday are the remains of a 34-year-old Somerset man reported missing in April.
Sheriff's deputies were called to a remote wooded area off Elihu Cabin Hollow Road shortly before 10 a.m. Sunday. They found several human bones, which were sent to state medical examiner's office for examination.
Although a positive identification has not been made, evidence at the scene led investigators to think the remains are that of John C. Beach of Somerset, who was reported missing in April after he and his brother ran out of gas on Elihu Cabin Hollow Road in that same area. The two men left their vehicle to get help but became separated, and Beach was not seen again.
According to the Pulaski County Sheriff's department, foul play is not suspected.
