A converted house that contained several apartments was damaged by flames early Wednesday in Lexington.
Firefighters were called to the 400 block of North Upper Street just after 6 a.m., Battalion Chief Brian Wainscott said.
No fire was visible when trucks arrived, but firefighters found a blaze that had started in an attic in the one-story rear of the building, Wainscott said.
All occupants in the building escaped without injury, he said.
Firefighters said the fire caused moderate damage, but residents in some first-floor apartments lost furnishings and other possessions.
The cause has not yet been determined.
