Sunday night’s wintry mix of rain, snow and sleet resulted in three injury accidents and 23 non-injury accidents in Fayette County between 5 and 8:30 p.m.
None of the injury accidents were serious, said Lt. Eddie Hart, of the Lexington Police department.
One of those accidents involved a Lexington Police car that was parked in the emergency lane to assist motorists involved in a minor accident at mile marker 115 on I-75. A vehicle struck the patrol car , Hart said. The officer was not hurt and the patrol car had minor damage. The driver was taken to a local hospital because he complained of neck injuries, Hart said.
Two lanes of I-75 near Clays Ferry was closed after 7 p.m. after a tractor trailer hit a vehicle towing a mobile home. No one was hurt in that accident, Hart said. But the contents of the mobile home — including two motorcycles — were strewn across two lanes of traffic, resulting in the shut down, Hart said.
