A man was killed and two other people were injured in a crash at Man o' War Boulevard and Rio Dosa Drive on Saturday night.
John A. Trent, 45, of Nicholasville, was pronounced dead at University of Kentucky Chandler Hospital at 10:31 p.m., according to a news release from the Fayette County coroner's office.
Trent, who was not wearing a seat belt, died of multiple blunt force trauma. The crash is being investigated as an accident, according to the release. The coroner's release did not say what vehicle Trent was in. Police could not be reached.
A Ford Mustang and a Jeep Cherokee collided just before 10 p.m., and the Jeep landed on its top.
Never miss a local story.
The driver of the Mustang was taken to Chandler Hospital with life-threatening injuries, said Capt. Charles Pendleton of the Lexington Fire Department. He said CPR was being performed on the man when firefighters arrived.
Pendleton said the driver of the Cherokee was thrown from the vehicle.
He had serious injuries, but they were not thought to be life-threatening, Pendleton said.
"He was talking," Pendleton said.
That man also had with him a 2-year-old child who suffered a small laceration to the forehead, Pendleton said.
The police department's collision reconstruction unit was to investigate. Man o' War was shut down between Richmond Road and Palumbo Drive.
