A Lincoln County man pleaded guilty Tuesday to second-degree manslaughter in the 2012 vehicular death of a Lawrenceburg woman.
Eric D. Jenkins, 42, of Hustonville, who was initially indicted on a charge of murder, entered the change of plea before Anderson Circuit Judge Chales Hickman.
The recommended sentence is six years in prison, said Commonwealth's Attorney Laura Witt Donnell. Judge Hickman scheduled final sentencing for July 8.
In September 2012, Jenkins was driving a dump truck on U.S. 62 when he crossed the center line and hit a Toyota driven by Marie Garmon, 43, of Lawrenceburg. Garmon, a registered nurse with Hospice of the Bluegrass, died a few days after the head-on crash.
Never miss a local story.
A Kentucky State Police investigation found that Jenkins was under the influence at the time of the crash.
