A 51-year-old Laurel County man has been charged with second-degree manslaughter in connection with a recent wreck that killed a Lexington motorcyclist.
Anthony Raymond also was charged with leaving the scene of an accident and driving on a suspended license from an earlier DUI charge, according to the Laurel County Sheriff's Department.
Raymond, who was in the Laurel County jail on an unrelated drug-trafficking charge, was arrested there Thursday, police said.
The crash occurred just before 6 p.m. May 7 on U.S. 25. According to deputies, a purple Dodge Neon pulled out from Hazel Patch Road into the path of a Harley-Davidson motorcycle that was traveling north on U.S. 25. The rider, Randolph Scott, 71, of Lexington, died.
Raymond fled on foot after the wreck and disappeared into some woods.
The sheriff's department thanked Laurel County residents and the news media for tips in the investigation.
