A 61-year-old man died in a car wreck around noon Monday in Cumberland, the Kentucky State Police reported.
Michael Surber, of Cumberland, was driving a 1995 Pontiac Grand Am south on Clover Lick Road when he crossed the center line and struck a coal truck, driven by Charles Carter of Virginia, according to state police.
Surber was pronounced dead at the scene. Carter was not injured in the wreck.
The police reported that drugs and alcohol are not suspected as factors in the accident. Surber, the police reported, was not wearing a seat belt.
