A former school teacher in Harlan has been indicted on 38 counts of distributing obscene material, as well as nearly 50 other criminal charges, according to a news release from Kentucky State Police.
Police initially arrested Kevin S. Crider, 42, in April after searching his home at Evarts. A grand jury added more charges against him this week.
The other charges against Crider include distributing obscene material to minors; possessing and distributing material showing a sexual performance by a minor; using a person under age 16 in a sexual performance, and promoting such use of a minor; soliciting the use of a minor in a sexual performance; and using a minor to distribute illegal material.
Crider, a former teacher in the Harlan County Independent school district, was being held Wednesday at the Harlan County Detention Center in lieu of $250,000 bond.
