A Tennessee man committed suicide after trying to flee from police in Pulaski County late Saturday, according to a news release.
The death happened after a state vehicle-enforcement officer responded to a report of a motorist driving recklessly on Ky. 80 at 9:48 p.m., state police said in a news release.
The driver, later identified as Lonnie S. Walls, 50, of Smyrna, Tenn., sped up when the officer tried to pull him over.
Walls, driving a BMW, continued west on Ky. 80 for about two miles as the officer pursued him. Walls lost control of his car and hit another vehicle, then hit a concrete curb, which damaged his car and brought it to a stop, according to a news release.

Walls then got out of his car and shot himself in the head with a pistol, state police said. He was pronounced dead at the scene.
