Lexington police say they arrested an 18-year-old man and two juveniles Tuesday as they were trying to burglarize a Lexington home.
The burglary happened just before noon in the 400 block of Lemon Drop Lane off Masterson Station Drive, police spokeswoman Sherelle Roberts said.
Officers were sent to the home on a report of suspicious activity; they found Brandon Christopher Douglas, 18, on the front porch and the two juveniles, ages 14 and 16, in the house, Roberts said.
Police said Douglas was acting as a lookout. Officers also recovered money and other items that the teens attempted to take from the house, Roberts said.
Investigators were trying to determine whether the suspects were involved in an earlier break-in at the same house, Roberts said.
In late June, police arrested four juveniles, ages 11 to 13, in a series of burglaries in the Masterson Station area. Roberts said police don't think the latest case is connected with the earlier ones.
Police charged Douglas with second-degree burglary. He was scheduled to appear Wednesday afternoon in Fayette District Court on an unrelated terroristic threatening charge. According to court documents, Douglas allegedly sent threatening text messages to a 14-year-old boy in February.
