A suspect is in jail on a first-degree robbery charge after a holdup Sunday at a market in Perry County.
According to Kentucky State Police, troopers arrested Sherman McIntosh shortly after a masked man robbed the Vicco Double Kwik at gunpoint about 10:45 a.m. Sunday.
A store employee told police that the robber took cash from the register, then fled in a black vehicle, driving north on Ky. 15 toward Hazard.
Troopers spotted the vehicle in the Perry County community of Jeff, and arrested McIntosh soon afterward, according to state police in Hazard. McIntosh was being held in the Kentucky River Regional Detention Center.
An investigation is continuing.
