A clerk at a pizza store was shot during an apparent robbery Monday night and was flown to University of Kentucky Chandler Hospital, Danville police said early Tuesday.
Shortly before 10:30 p.m., police were dispatched to Domino's Pizza at 423 S. Fourth Street on a report that a female clerk had been shot.
The victim was rushed to Ephraim McDowell Regional Medical Center in Danville, and she was then flown to UK Hospital for emergency surgery. Her condition is unknown, Danville Police Chief Tony Gray said Tuesday morning in a news release.
Police said they don't have any details about the shooting because there were no witnesses. It wasn't clear whether any money was taken. No one else was working at the time.
Anyone who might have seen or heard anything is urged to contact Danville Police at (859) 238-1220 and ask for detective Robert Ladd or a supervisor.
